Individuals with a perceptual disorder have limited ability to adequately search for and process information. They may only recognize fragmented pieces of information in a situation and not categorize them correctly. The behavior of other people is often not understood. Tasks outside their familiar framework can present significant difficulties and can lead to challenging behavior or withdrawal from the situation. A perceptual disorder is not an independent diagnosis but is often associated with various diagnoses (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD, language and behavioral development disorders, acquired brain injury, multiple disabilities).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

We support family members and those affected in managing their everyday lives better. Our counseling is personalized and practical, taking place by phone or in person, depending on your needs. Depending on the issue, we connect you with a suitable point of contact and, thanks to our network, help you find an appropriate specialist in your area. We offer courses on ASD, for example, but also others. For families with a child with ASD, the APW offers the unique TAU course<\/a> You can also participate as a parent. Course on the Affolter Model\u00ae<\/a> attend. Relatives repeatedly attend such a course because their child is also supported with this therapy.
