The results clearly show that while the term continues to be used, it is increasingly viewed critically.<br><br>\n<h2>Who participated?<\/h2>\nThe majority of participants were professionals such as therapists, teachers, or doctors. Parents and caregivers were also represented.<br><br>\n<h2>How is the term perceived?<\/h2>\nA large portion of respondents perceive the term as having rather negative connotations. At the same time, many also categorize it as factually correct. However, some see it as stigmatizing or no longer contemporary.\n\nIt becomes particularly clear that the term elicits different reactions:<br><br>\n<ul>\n \t<li>Associations with \u201ebeing disturbed\u201c or \u201enot being right\u201c<\/li>\n \t<li>Connection to technical or defective systems<\/li>\n \t<li>Perception as derogatory or exclusionary<\/li>\n \t<li>At the same time, neutral or technically oriented perspectives<\/li>\n<\/ul><br>\n<h2>Desire for change<\/h2>\nA portion of respondents advocate for adapting or replacing the term. Others wish to stick with it or see no clear need for action. Opinions are clearly divided here.<br><br>\n<h2>Possible alternatives<\/h2>\nIn the survey, various alternative terms were evaluated.
