Development model & therapy method

The Affolter Model®

The Affolter Model® is a development and therapy model that focuses on the interaction between people and their environment. The therapy does not focus on the symptoms, but on the root of the impairment. Relatives and Specialists in various fields, e.g. neuro-rehabilitation, pediatrics or education, use it to support those affected in everyday life. Find out more on the next page.

What our participants & members say

"I was quite skeptical at first, partly because of the physical proximity. But by trying it out for myself and the attentive support of the assistant, I gained a lot of confidence. And I can now better explain to parents what is important for their child."
Specialist
"I got lots of ideas for implementing in my everyday life. And it's great that I can contact the course leader if I'm unsure. I will definitely stick with it."
Specialist
"The idea of the course, namely linking theory and practice AND the implementation with those affected, really impressed me. It was great that we were so well supported in our practical work."
Specialist
"These consultations are very valuable for us and have a lasting effect. Thank you very much for passing on your enormous expertise. We were looking for optimal forms of support for our daughter's development. The advice we received at home taught us a lot for our everyday lives and we can put this into practice straight away."
Mother after a consultation
"It was great to be able to take the time during this week to explore the topic of autism in depth. For the first time ever, we had the opportunity to talk to specialists in detail. Although this is a big step, because it involves going deep into the private sphere, it was absolutely right for us."
Parents after attending a family course
"The experts listened to us, took us seriously and gave us comprehensive advice. Our attitude and understanding have changed fundamentally. And we now know better how we can support our son."
